The mse wall  is a technique utilized for the construction of reinforced soil structures by mean of insertion of synthetic or metallic armatures .
The external retaining wall facade can also reproduce several architectural motifs or can be with natural stone cladding The constituent parts of the system are showed in the axonometric detail listed here below

Prefabricated panels in reinforced concrete :

  • These are concrete prefabricated panels (minimum class 350 )lightly reinforced (electrosoldered mesh of variable φ 6-10 mm) having a constant depth of 14 cm. They are basically distinguished in three topologies ; the base panel of maximum dimension 2 x 0,8 m ; the standard pane of dimension 2 x 1,6 m and the top panel of variable dimensions according to the profile of the project but never larger than 2 x 2,4 m . The weights is  then controlled within 1,2 – 1,8 tons ,allowing easy transportation.
  • -Steel anchorage points :
    They are composed of two separate elements . The anchorage rings in stainless steel , which are united to the prefabricated panels at the moment of casting and are thus delivered to the construction site already assembled and ready to be installed , and the anchorage bars which are steel rods coated by an elastic-polymer having the double function of protecting  the bar itself and to improve the grip of the anchorage to the armature.
  • -The armatures
    These are composed of geo-grids in composite polymers of high resistance and elastic module , of different classes in such a way that they can be optimized within the same project. They are delivered to the construction site in approximately 100 m long rolls , already of the width of the project and easily identifiable . Each armature binds one panel making their laying down work quick and safe.

REINFORCED SOIL SLOPES
Reinforced soil slopes (up to 70 degrees) combines a wrapping system of geogrids and geotextiles to create a slope which would not be possible otherwise.
The term “reinforced soil slope” refers to a composite material which combines the strength of two different materials – fill soil and reinforcing geosynthetic.
The geotechnical properties of the fill soil (compressive strength and shear strength) are improved by being combined with geosynthetics – polymer structures with a very high tensile strength – making it possible to construct and stabilize slopes and embankments with very steep inclines and small sections, thereby saving space and excavation material.

Reinforced soil slopes are very flexible when compared to conventional gravity structures and can be adapted to suit a wide range of conditions, with the option of having biodegradable erosion matting on the face. A reinforced slope with a grassed face is a valid alternative to reinforced concrete, especially where the works are of a large scale that have a real environmental impact.
The reinforced soil slopes system comprises of three elements:
1. The Reinforcement
The  geogrids used as reinforcement    are knitted grid manufatured from high-tenacity multifilament polyester (PET) yarns and coated with black PVC which can provide best resistance of UV and durability and are certified (CE mark – Certificate of conformity of the factory production control ) for the construction of steep reinforced slopes with inclines of up to 85° by the CPR ( Construction Products Regulation -European Commission)
1. Fill Material
Reinforced Soil Slope technology allows the use of many types of fill. However, it is preferable to use a free-draining granular material with a high angle of internal friction, if possible without large stones as they would make compaction difficult.If using on site material with poor mechanical properties, it is advisable to mix it with sand and aggregate.
Near the face, it is recommended filling with topsoil in order to create optimum conditions for plants to become established and to ensure the durability of the vegetation.
The fill material should be placed and compacted in layers, with a recommended thickness of 0.30 – 0.35m, to reach a compaction of not less than 95% of the Proctor Standard.
1. The steel mesh formwork
The  EQUITER  system uses, on the face of the structure, formwork made of electro-welded mesh (8mm rebar with a 150x150mm mesh size) acting as a guide support and which is left in place. It does not have a structural function but speeds up the installation process and allows accurate profiling of the structure.
It is not unreasonable to expect a 30% Increase in daily production when compared to traditional methods of construction. The formwork is supplied with stiffening rods placed longitudinally along the slope (one every 450mm approx).
